The two major layers of our skin are the Epidermis and the Dermis. The epidermis is the top, relatively thin protective and waterproof layer of our skin. It is what “tans” and is where melanin is produced which gives us the color tone of our skin, from milky white to tan to dark rich black. It is the overproduction of melanin that produces melasma, sun damage, pigmentation, age spots to name a few. Under the epidermis is a much thicker layer called the “dermis.” The dermis is where the skin’s arteries, veins and capillaries are found as well as nerve cells, oil glands, sweat glands, hair follicles and of course the skin’s structural support woven in many layers of collagen.

With aging, hormonal changes, environmental and life-style stresses, oxidative damage, poor diet and especially with exposure to the sun, the epidermis often develops pigmented irregularities such as “sun or age spots” (lentigos), larger areas of pigmentation called “melasma,” and bumpy/rough lesions such as Actinic Keratoses. Over time our epidermis takes a real beating, and so it’s not surprising that it contains many blemishes, lesions, and lots of fine wrinkles that cause the skin to appear dull, irregular, discolored and rough. When sufficiently damaged, the skin will even develop vascular lesions such as broken capillaries, spider veins and rosacea.

Aging, sun damage, oxidative damage and environmental/lifestyle stresses take their toll on the dermis too, causing a deterioration of existing collagen as well as a dramatic decrease in the production of new collagen. Consequently our skin becomes thinner and weaker, and is characterized by a loss of resilience and tone which produces sagging and deep wrinkles. In many cases the dermis can deteriorate to the point where it becomes very loose (increased laxity) causing your skin to droop in many areas of your face and even hang below the jaw line.

AMA Corp’s CP6™ Laser Facelift, utilizes a synergistic combination of multiple types of lasers (“modalities”) in order to target all layers of the skin and all their component tissue types, resulting in effective treatment of these symptoms. The process is extraordinarily comprehensive, comprising six distinct procedures wrapped into one synergistic facelift treatment. The overall treatment is remarkably fast (60 minutes) and causes no excessive side effects such as bruising or bleeding. To enhance the results of the facelift treatment and promote the overall long-term health of your skin, specially formulated medical-grade moisturizers and skin-care regimens (and makeup if desired) are applied to the treated area immediately after each procedure, allowing patients to return to their normal activities without interruption (no “down-time”).

The six procedures of the CP6™ Laser Facelift are as follows:

CP1. Vascular lesions:

Broken Capillaries, Spider Veins, Micro Vasculature (generalized redness), Rosacea, Cherry-Angiomas, are all individually targeted during this phase of the treatment. Depending on the extent of these lesions, additional treatments may be required.

CP2a. Pigmented lesions:

Sun Damage, Age Spots, Melasma – each spot is individually targeted during this phase of the treatment. Depending on the extent of these lesions, additional treatments may be required.

CP2b. Color blending:

The overall base coloration of our face is gently treated (“painting”), causing the “turn-over” of your base-line melanin, (old melanin is replaced with new) which evens out your coloration. 3-4 weeks are required for the process to run its course and typically results in eliminating the need to use foundation creams.

CP3. Deep collagen remodeling and dermal regeneration:

In this phase we will target old deteriorated collagen deep in the dermis (the cause of deep wrinkles, sagging and enlarged pores) in order to accelerate its removal by your body’s own natural processes. We will also target fibroblast cells throughout your dermis, stimulating them to produce amplified quantities of new young collagen… the kind that you had when you were a teenager… healthy, firm and toned. Simply put, this treatment removes wrinkles from the “inside out.” Wrinkles will actually lighten, lift and disappear, and your pores will shrink. With each successive treatment the affects on the fibroblasts are cumulative, resulting in progressively greater amounts of collagen production lasting longer periods of time. Week by week, for nearly a year after a CP6™ Laser Facelift series, you will look progressively better and better as your skin becomes more and more porcelain like.

CP4. Spectral, Infra-Red Treatments: Tightening & lifting excessive laxity:

For patients whose facial skin and/or neck has excessive laxity (sagging), for instance drooping under the jaw line (jowl) or “marionette lines” at the corners of the mouth, a more intense collagen stimulation and remodeling procedure is administered that will tighten and lift the skin back into its natural more youthful profile for a dramatic, beautiful facelift. To enhance your comfort, stronger prescribed pain medication is often needed. (Please arrange for a driver to and from the clinic.) The results of this procedure can be dramatic even after the first laser facelift treatment, and successive treatments will typically result in tremendous improvement towards the transformed youthful profile you are seeking.

CP5. Epidermal Resurfacing (peel) and Accelerated Regeneration:

This phase removes in an amazingly precise way, a few microns (30-50%) of the dead layer of epidermis (Stratus Corneum), along with its imperfections, discolorations, fine wrinkles and roughness. This procedure will also stimulate a faster 3-5 day “cell cycle” (like when you were a kid) in which the removed epidermal cells are replaced with new collagen and younger, healthier cells for a beautiful facelift. This is an exciting process that you will actually experience as a “flakey peel” 3-5 days after the procedure, as the remaining older epidermal cells of your skin undergo a complete exfoliation and replacement. This is our “Smooth Radiance™” treatment, through which your skin will generate a brand new epidermis in 3-5 days, giving you smooth radiant skin.

CP6. Sub-Cellular LED Photo-Modulation:

In this procedure, a proprietary amber LED light-energy will drench the cells of all layers of your skin, with specially modulated frequencies that stimulate rapid healing, reversing cell damage and dramatically accelerate the production of collagen. Though the mechanism of action is very subtle and occurs on the sub-cellular level, the results have been scientifically proven to be dramatic.
